It’s not everyday…
…that you get a personal call from An Taoiseach (the Prime Minister) begging you to be his photographer at an event.
And the other day was no different, because he didn’t phone then either.
I did however get a call from the Fianna Fail (the majority political party of government) Press Office.
The occasion was the presentation of some memorabilia that belonged to former Taoiseach Jack Lynch, and was being presented to the Cork Museum.
Pictured are An Taoiseach, Cork City’s Lord Mayor and Jack Lynch’s sister Eve with an 1981 award that was presented to Jack Lynch as one of the all-time all-stars. For those that unfamiliar with the all-star concept, it’s a theoretical annual team of the best GAA players of that year, in both codes of Gaelic Games – Football & Hurling.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation to, or preference for, the Fianna Fail party, nor the Fine Gael Party, Labour, the Greens or anyone else. I’d just like to know why, in a country where it’s people have such a great sense of humour, there is no Irish equivalent of the UK’s Monster Raving Loony Party?
Now now now, I know what you’re thinking, they’re all…..
